An important stage of SUM’s Social Studies Olympiad ‘Future Managers Competition’ has been completed

On 15–16 February 2020 the State University of Management completed the intramural stage of the Olympiad ‘Future Managers Competition’, 2019/2020. The Olympiad was prepared and held by the Career Guidance Sector of the Office for Admission, Pre-University Training and Additional Education.

The annual SUM Social Studies Olympiad ‘Future Managers Competition’ includes two mandatory rounds.

The first (qualifying) round was held from November 2019 to January 2020 in the form of tests and included the most relevant topics in accordance with the secondary education programme on social studies. 345 students took part. The Olympiad’s participants were tested remotely using distance-learning technologies.

The second (final) round was held at SUM. The tasks of this round required pupils to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the subject and the ability to use it to solve non-typical issues. Based on the results of the extramural round, 77 high school students from 24 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the intramural round of the Olympiad. The largest number of participants in the Olympiad’s intramural round come from the city of Moscow, Moscow, Penza, Vladimir, Volgograd, Kostroma, Tver and Yaroslavl Regions and Stavropol Territory.

This year, SUM’s Social Studies Olympiad ‘Future Managers Competition’ had the status of a university Olympiad, and by decision of the Academic Council of SUM its winners and medallists will receive an additional 4 points to the USE score upon admission to our university.

The final results of the intramural round of the Olympiad ‘Future Managers Competition’ are expected at the end of March 2020, and the awarding of winners and medallists is planned for the SUM Open House Day in April.  The results of the Olympiad will be posted on SUM’s website.
