Creating a comfortable digital environment for people

On 3 March the State University of Management hosted the first International Research-to-Practice Conference ‘Smart Nations:  Global Trends in the Digital Economy’. The conference was organised by the Research Institute for Management of Digital Economy Transformation with the support of the Autonomous Non-profit Organisation Institute for Scientific Communications. The conference included a joint session with representatives from the Federal State Statistics Service on the Digital Population Census: Technologies and Tools. The session moderator was Kseniya Yekimova, Vice Rector of Research.

The conference featured six main workshops:  ‘State and Legal Aspects of Digital Transformation of Management in Russia’ (workshop supervisor, Professor Vladimir Zotov), ‘New Management Technologies in the Digital Environment of the Information Society’ (workshop supervisor, Associate Professor Olga Pisareva), ‘Smart Economy:  New Reality’ (workshop supervisor, Associate Professor Galina Sorokina), ‘Smart Business in a Smart City: Challenging Management Issues’ (workshop supervisor, Professor Viktoriya Tinyakova), ‘Digital Marketing’ (workshop supervisor, Professor Gennadiy Azoyev, ‘Phenomenon of Smart Nations:  Social and Business Aspects’ (workshop supervisor, Professor Aleksey Chudnovskiy).

One of the conference’s organisers, Chief Researcher of the Research Institute for Management of Digital Economy Transformation, Professor Pavel Terelyanskiy said,

‘The creation of a user-friendly digital environment should be the key development goal of advanced technologies. The Smart Nations concept, a well-balanced system of managing transnational social and economic systems, demands an understanding of the role played by big data analysis, distributed ledger management, new microprocessor and broadband technologies from the standpoint of their usefulness and availability to humanity’.

In total, 266 participants registered for the conference, and more than 650 authors sent their articles for publication on the conference topics. The conference resulted in a collection of materials, which will be indexed in the Scopus science metrics database.
