The Expert Council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Is Developing 24 Projects for Combating Coronavirus

Viktor Cherepov, Chair of the Department of Management in Healthcare and Sports Industry of the State University of Management, coordinates the work of the Expert Council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs for combating coronavirus. Within two weeks of its existence, the Council has devised 24 large-scale projects aimed at combating viral infections.

In the context of the dire epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs has established an Expert Council for Combating the Novel Coronavirus Disease and Other Viral Infections. Executive Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chair of the Department of Management in Healthcare and Sports Industry of the State University of Management, Viktor Cherepov MD has been elected to coordinate the Council’s activities.

The aim of the Council is to consolidate the efforts of the country’s leading experts in the field of medical, biological, chemical and technical science as well as the engineering and business community. Its main tasks are to develop programmes of scientific and practical support to counteract global infectious threats, introduce innovative medical technologies, medical equipment and medicines in Russia as well as develop the most relevant and important projects and monitor their implementation.

The Council consists of renowned scientists from the fields of pulmonology, virology and epidemiology, experts in developing and implementing modern medical equipment, including Olga Sobolevskaya, MD, Professor of the Department of Management in Healthcare and Sports Industry of the State University of Management, Executive Secretary of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Commission on Health Industry.

The Expert Council for Combating the Novel Coronavirus Disease and Other Viral Infections was established on 27 March 2020. Since then it has developed 24 large-scale projects, including the creation of sensitive and fast methods of diagnosis and treatment, the development of drugs and new vaccines as well as effective means of protection against viral infection. All projects are distinguished by a high level of scientific feasibility and focus on solving the problem; their practical implementation will take no more than 6 months.
