Russian Census at SUM

Rosstat’s Project Office at SUM has completed another stage of expert and analytical support and monitoring as part of the preparations for the Russian Census 2020.

Population censuses are major surveys held regularly in most countries around the world. National statistical authorities are constantly working to improve census standards, refine procedures for interacting with respondents, and modernise survey techniques.

SUM’s experts have studied the census questions in detail and developed guidelines for completion. Guidelines for census takers containing typical questions asked by respondents and possible answers to them have also been prepared.

Of particular note are the questions relating to software techniques and organisation addressed by regional statistical authorities to Rosstat. The Project Office has selected typical questions of this nature and prepared guidelines containing possible responses to key questions.
