Effective modern training methods

Combining the efforts of higher education institutions and institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the training process is widely discussed as one of the mechanisms for the effective development of higher education within the framework of the implementation of national projects on Science and Education. Such a system already exists in a number of universities and is proving to be effective. One notable example is the active participation of academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the scientific, educational and public activities of the State University of Management.

S Yu Glazyev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, G B Kleyner, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, S A Lukyanov, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, supervise scientific projects at the University, lead the basic departments of the Russian Academy of Sciences, conduct scientific and educational seminars with post-graduates and students and are engaged in the examination of scientific works of graduate students and young teachers.

According to I Lobanov, Rector of SUM, 

‘Such activities help improve the quality of research management at SUM and form an academically considered course for training young researchers and scientists to defend their theses in the University’s dissertation councils’.

Another unique example is the annual scientific conference Lvov Readings held in cooperation with the Central Economic and Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (CEMI RAS), dedicated to the memory and creative rethinking of the works of SUM graduate  D S Lvov. The Conference has been held at the University since 2010 and is a discussion platform for topical issues of interaction between the academic and university community. This year’s Lvov Readings 2020 will be held at SUM on 18 March.

A new trend has recently emerged in the conference: attracting young participants as the potential for the development of economic thought and public policy of the future.
