Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin Appoints SUM Graduate Tatyana Ilyushnikova Deputy Minister for Economic Development
12 February 2020. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has appointed Tatyana Ilyushnikova, Deputy Head of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate, as Deputy Minister for Economic Development.
In 2002, Ilyushnikova (a post-graduate student in SUM’s Environmental Safety Management Department at the time), defended her PhD thesis on 08.00.05 Economics and Management of the National Economy (with a specialisation in the Economics of Natural Resource Management) on the topic ‘Developing an Investment Strategy for Integrated Ecological and Economic Ecosystems’. Her supervisor was Yakov Dmitriyevich Vishnyakov, Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor and Doctor of Technical Sciences. Tatyana demonstrated strong commitment, perseverance and diligence during her thesis preparation and in her interactions with the graduating department.
After graduating from the Polzunov Altai State Technical University in 1998 and defending her thesis in 2002, Tatyana spent 1998 to 2002 working in real sector companies. From 2002–2012, she held various positions in the Russian Ministry of Economic Development. From 2012–2020, she worked as a researcher and served as Deputy Head of the Presidential Experts’ Directorate. She was appointed Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation on 11 February 2020 and was awarded the ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’ medal II class and the Presidential Certificate of Honour.
