Representatives from SUM, Rosstat and the business community discussed the 2020 All-Russian Population Census
More than 100 people took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘All-Russian Population Census. Digital Basis of Management’, which was held 9 December 2019 in the Digital Business Space as part of the 3rd International Scientific Forum Stepping into the Future. Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy.
Irina Shapoval, Deputy Head of Federal Service for State Statistics, gave a welcome speech. She noted that the All-Russian Census is unique in having the flexibility for respondents to fill in electronic census sheets independently at a convenient time and place using special tablets.
Panel discussions at the conference were moderated by Pavel Smelov, Advisor to the Head of Rosstat.
Participants to panel discussions included V M Voronin, Deputy Head of the Population Statistics Department of Rosstat; M R Yefimova, Head of the Statistics Department of SUM; A N Gostev, Head of the Sociology and Psychology Department of SUM; and Ye A Yegorova, Head of the Plekhanov Quantitative Methods of Regional Development Research Laboratory.
During the conference, the participants made presentations on issues related to family development planning, improving the quality of education, small business development, regulation of migration as well as the development of cultural and national traditions.
The participants were unanimous in their opinion that the 2020 All-Russian Census will help identify issues existing in society, business and the state and make informed managerial decisions to eliminate them.

The interest and significance of the census for the community lie in that that it furnishes it with a mirror into which, willy-nilly, the whole community and each one of us gaze.
The participants to the discussion were unanimous in their opinion that the census is the most significant national statistical effort and encouraged the audience to take part in it.
The general partners of the event are the Federal Service for State Statistics of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Gazprombank and the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO.
