A Time for Useful Things: New Videos of Online Events at SUM
This week (27-30 April), the State University of Management (SUM) held a number of interesting online events, ranging from seminars to conferences. The 28th All-Russian Student Conference ‘Management Challenges 2020’
This was a very interesting and insightful event where the students and professors discussed key topics in management theory and practice: organisational, managerial, political and legal aspects in the activities of public authorities; marketing, brand management and advertising techniques; economics and finance; HR management, social and business communications; digital management technology and management of individual sectors.
The Inter-University Student Research-to-Practice Conference ‘Learning English for Professional Purposes: Opportunities and Difficulties’
The conference discussed how to spark interest in scientific research among students, develop creative skills, teach scientific research and methodologies for nurturing a creative personality. The event was held in three languages:
The conference discussed key issues and challenges facing the Russian fuel and energy complex, including sliding oil prices, ‘trade wars’, problems of Arctic shelf development, ‘green’ energy sources, issues of remote management in the fuel and energy complex (industry).
The research seminar discussed current issues and problems in developing recordkeeping in accounting amid the digitalisation of the economy, changes in the work environment and professional requirements from those employed in accounting-related professions.

The event discussed current issues in accounting and taxation amid the digitalisation of the economy, and changes in the work environment of those employed in accounting-related professions.
Round Table: ‘The Theory and Practice of Tax Reform’
Taxes and all tax-related reforms are topics that are concerning to absolutely everyone. At the round table, the students of the State University of Management presented their reports and proposals for tax reform.
