Apply for University Online Superservice to Enable Prospective Students to Apply Online

On 22 October 2019, speaking at the plenary session of the Open Innovations Forum that took place at the Skolkovo Innovation Centre, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev discussed the possibility of being able to submit applications to Russian universities online.

Dmitry Medvedev pointed out that prospective Russian students would be able to submit documents via a digital service.

We are actually already working on an online application system for Russian universities. More than 50 universities have been selected for this project,

said Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation

Commenting on the announcement made by the Prime Minister, the press officers of the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education emphasised that testing of the digital public services, or the Apply for University Online superservice, will start as early as the 2020/2021 academic year.

The project, the Press Office explained, will enable prospective students to submit their documents online, with a special built-in assistant assessing their chances of being admitted.

According to the Press Office, the superservice will enable prospective students to submit documents via the Public Services Portal. As a result, the project will help save time, reduce transport costs and track the process in a single ranking. A total of 52 Russian universities will take part in the pilot run of the project.

The State University of Management has applied to join the large-scale Apply for University Online project. Prospective students will be able to submit application documents online from home, without wasting time or money! This is particularly important in cases when prospective students want to apply to a university in another city or region. The process is designed in such a way that all the data on the applicant transferred via the portal will not require any additional verification. I’m convinced that this project will prove successful!

said Aleksey Nikylin, Director of the Admissions, Academic Mobility and Career Office of the State University of Management.
