Changes to the МВА-2019 Programme at SUM’s Higher Business School
The world is changing, and so is the economic, financial and business environment. In this context, can an МВА Programme remain the same? Absolutely not. Such programmes are designed to train specialists working in a cutting-edge area and need to adapt to the changing conditions. SUM’s Higher Business School is constantly improving and upgrading its МВА Programme. The changes in brief:
МВА Programme: new in-demand disciplines.
In 2019, the programme was upgraded to include new disciplines: Economic Policy, Digital Transformation of Society, Entrepreneurial Skills Development Strategy, Introduction to Agile Project Management and Mindfulness in Business, Management and Personal Growth.
In contrast to the previous version of the programme, which favoured a more theoretical approach, the new Economic Policy unit will primarily focus on the applied aspects of Micro- and Macroeconomics.
The Digital Transformation unit touches upon the philosophical aspects of shaping ‘the digital society’, the basics of computation and its key concepts, as well as big data processing methods. It also covers best practice in the management of economic, expert and decision support systems.
The Entrepreneurial Skills Development Strategy unit is dedicated to managerial competencies in entrepreneurship. The unit is made up of many components starting with ‘self-‘, such as: self-assessment, self-marketing, self-coaching, etc. It prepares you for opening your own business and its effective management.
The Introduction to Agile Project Management unit will acquaint you with the principles and logic of project management, its trends (in conjunction with the market), tools and methods.
As for the Mindfulness unit, this is a brand new trend in business education. Some international business schools have already upgraded their MBA programmes with this course, which will help you to realise your striving for success through more sensible, sustainable and ethical work methods. SUM’s Higher Business School seems to be the first in Russia to add these changes to its MBA Programme.
Active learning in focus
The upgraded programme now includes a new business game called Winter Is Coming. The game is aimed at developing strategic thinking and skills such as prioritising, team work, business negotiation, planning and analysis.
APPLICATIONS FOR THE AUTUMN GROUP ARE STILL BEING RECEIVED—TERM STARTS 15 NOVEMBER 2019
