Changes to the procedures for the elections to the Student Council
Pursuant to the Minister of Science and Higher Education V.N. Falkov’s Order No. 398 dated 14 March 2020 and following the transition of SUM to a mode of distance education, it was decided to conduct the Student Council election online.
The schedule of the voting remains the same—only the procedure has changed.
- By 18 March, communities or public pages dedicated to the election will be created for each institute on VK. All news, changes in the election procedures and information materials related to candidates will be posted there.
- During this period, the election will be held for the Institute’s Student Council in study groups. The printed forms filled in before 16 March will remain valid.
If the training group has not managed to arrange face-to-face voting, it may be held in a group chat at VKontakte.
- On 18 March, the lists of elected members of the Institute’s Student Council from among the study groups of the Institute will be posted.
- On 18 and 24 March, an election campaign for the role of chairperson in each of the Institutes will be held amongst candidates. This includes:
- Holding a Candidate’s Day via video and photo reports on the Institute’s social media accounts;
- Q&A Day on Instagram with an additional window in stories for questions from the page followers.
- Election of chairpersons will be held on 25 March. The time and platform will be announced on social media in advance.
Voting is available strictly at the allocated time, which will be announced in advance. The election will be conducted using a system that would only allow users with an assigned unique code to participate. The individual codes are issued by the chairperson of the institute’s electoral commission. Users are not permitted to change their vote after voting.
Results will be published in an online report by the administrator after the conclusion of the voting process.
- By 30 March, the institute hosting the elections will post the voting results for the special group and the official community of the Student Council.
