Esports at SUM: Virtual Reality Technologies at VR Beat Saber Tournament

The State University of Management hosted the VR Beat Saber Esports Tournament.

VR esports involves integrating virtual reality technologies into gaming, enabling gamers to feel at the heart of the events as opposed to merely controlling the game on a flat-screen. As one of the most spectacular types of esports events, VR competitions have a promising future.  

Participants of the University’s VR Beat Saber Tournament competed in reaction time tasks.

By the way, the tournament’s main prize was a virtual reality headset! Combined with a smartphone, a VR headset helps build a personal home theatre system, gain new gaming experience and set off on a virtual journey!

The tournament identified SUM’s Top 4 VR athletes:

First place: Olga Omelchenko

Second place: Darya Sazonova

Third place: Danya Molozeev

Fourth place: Danila Marchenkov

As a digital university, SUM is actively developing esports. SUM’s students have won a number of esports competitions against Moscow’s top universities!
