Problems of Tax Advising during the Pandemic

The Department of Accounting and Tax Management of the SUM Institute of Economics and Finance held a round table discussion on ‘Topical Issues of Tax Consulting for Legal Entities and Individuals’ for first-year master’s students in the Tax Consulting in Business Management.

Such opportunities to communicate with each other, share opinions and discuss current scientific ideas and trends are very important for scientists. And for those who have just put their foot on the path of science, each new idea seems like a small discovery of its own. That is why it is very important to create and maintain all the conditions necessary for such communication.

Such a communication platform was created by the Department of Accounting and Tax Management of the SUM Institute of Economics and Finance in the form of a round table ‘Topical Issues of Tax Consulting for Legal Entities and Individuals. Modern Tax Planning Methods’ for first-year master’s students in Tax Consulting in Business Management. The event was moderated by Marina Karp, a renowned expert in the field of taxation, Chair of the Department, Doctor of Economics.

At the round table, students discussed issues of the personal income tax regulation, the development of accounting, internal control and payroll taxation in the Russian Federation as well as the problems related to building work relationships with employees, accounting and taxation in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic.

As practical examples, the round table discussed the problems of taxation and tax risk management of MOESK PJSC, Teleretail LLC and several construction companies. The round table also addressed the issues of business taxation as well as the OECD recommendations for counteracting aggressive tax planning.

Some reports presented at the round table will participate in the 28th All-Russian Student Conference ‘Management Problems 2020’.
