Relevant Education for Entrepreneurs

Experts from the State University of Management have completed the first stage of a project for the Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises.  

The development of small and medium enterprises is a priority issue in Russian economic strategy. In many developed countries, the GDP share of such enterprises is significant and can reach 50%–60%. 

The Federal Corporation for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises serves as an institute to help small and medium business develop. The Corporation’s mission is to coordinate support for small and medium enterprises as stipulated by Federal Law No. 209-FZ dated 24 June 2007 ‘On the Development of Small and Medium Business in the Russian Federation’. The State University of Management acts as a strategic partner of the Corporation and has been providing it with the necessary resources and competencies.

The project aims to update the educational programme ‘Qualification assessment and development of small and medium enterprises’ and to train employees of regional competence centres. This is necessary to implement guidelines on financial, property, informational, marketing etc support for small and medium enterprises in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

At the first stage of the project, SUM experts developed guidelines for assessing the qualifications of small and medium enterprises and sole entrepreneurs. They also re-designed the curriculum, study guides and design layouts.
