‘Step into the Future’: James She, speaker of the Forum, on art created by artificial intelligence
On the eve of the III International Scientific Forum ‘Step into the Future: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy’, James She, a world-renowned expert, speaker of the forum, met with its organisers, representatives of the State University of Management, and shared his strategic vision of digital technology development.
Professor James She, Director of the Social Media Laboratory at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), was welcomed by Svetlana Malkarova, Vice-rector of SUM, and Professor Gennady Azoyev, Director of the Institute of Marketing at SUM.
The Hong Kong-based scholar told about his main areas of expertise, namely digital marketing and art created by artificial intelligence. James She pointed out that AI Art is a new, rapidly widening field where the cultural heritage of previous generations is intertwined with cutting-edge digital technologies.
Russia has got a very rich history with stunning cultural traditions. Certain cultural codes of Russia, processed by the creativity of artificial intelligence, might find a place on art listings of the future. In Saint Petersburg, the cultural capital of Russia, an AI Art exhibition has already taken place. An exhibition of the works I have collected may also be held in Moscow, but it is too early to talk about it yet,
says Professor James She, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Speaking about modern tech and the topics to be discussed at the Forum, James noted that even compared to last year, there already is a difference in technology development; he is very curious to see where computers will take the world:

Professor James She, a world-renowned expert, will not only speak at the plenary session of the annual digital forum ‘Step into the Future’, which will be called ‘Smart Nations: The Economics of Digital Equality’ this year but will also have an interactive chat with high school students interested in IT.
The III International Scientific Forum ‘Step into the Future: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy’ will take place in Moscow on 9–10 December on the premises of the Digital Business Space.
This is the third edition of the digital forum by State University of Management, and by now it has become an authoritative discussion platform for creative opinion exchange on the prospects for the development of the digital economy and artificial intelligence, with prominent representatives of government, business, science and education, as well as key Russian and foreign experts, participating in it.
