SUM attended a meeting at Russia’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education
On 16 August, in the Central House of Scientists the seminar “On increasing universities’ influence in the formation of the state’s information, scientific, educational and youth policy” was held.
The meeting began with a speech by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Mikhail Kotyukov. He said: “Young people trust universities with the best years of their lives. Student years are a time when young people want to grow and develop, they want justice and efficiency, and we cannot fail them. We should never forget that a student is going to be a graduate one day. And his own success depends on how effective we are today. If he is successful, it means that we have also worked well.”
Moscow and regional university media shared their experience in the development of youth policy and talked about various media promotional possibilities. Vitaly Grishkin, Deputy Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Social Projects in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Science, spoke about cooperation with universities. Assistant Minister of Education Rayfa Bitkova stressed the importance of cooperation with universities within the context of the implementation of the unified
information policy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Arina Gukova, Head of the SUM PR Department said: “It’s rare that we have the opportunity to bring all the executives together in one place. Well, we all had a great time here: we shared our experience, listened to people from other universities speaking in order to make the best of it! SUM is a large university, which has all the necessary tools to advance to a new informational level, and we will be working towards it.”
Business meetings were held that concerned the interaction of SUM with various projects: “VK University” — a support programme for programmers that includes free lectures and workshops by employees of VK for school and university students; “Russia as a Country of Opportunities,” an open platform for the communication and exchange of experience between entrepreneurs, managers, young professionals, volunteers and social activists.
