SUM Graduate Oleg Kuvshinnikov Appointed Governor of Vologda Region

On 8 September 2019, the acting governor of the Vologda Region, Oleg Kuvshinnikov, received 60.79% of votes at the gubernatorial election.

Oleg Kuvshinnikov earned a degree in production management from the State University of Management in 1999. He assumed office as the governor of the Vologda Region in December 2011. Prior to this, he had been the mayor of Cherepovets.

In 2004, Mr. Kuvshinnikov was awarded the medal of the order ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’ II class. Eight years later, he was honoured with the order of the Saint Blessed Duke Daniil Moskovsky III class of the Russian Orthodox Church.
