SUM Student Theatre Vasiliy Tyorkin Online Marathon
An online reading of Aleksandr Tvardovsky’s book Vasiliy Tyorkin has started at the State University of Management to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War.
As part of a series of events prepared by the State University of Management to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War, the Student Theatre has launched an online reading marathon of Aleksandr Tvardovsky’s famous book Vasiliy Tyorkin. This book was chosen for a very good reason. First, according to research conducted by Russian Reporter magazine, the book was ranked 28th in the 100 most popular poems in Russia. Second, it is the most famous work created during the Second World War and celebrates the heroism of unknown Russian soldiers.
The main purpose of the marathon is to help the younger generation learn more about their country’s history and its heroes – ordinary people who sacrificed their lives during the Second World War. Every day until 9 May, the SUM Student Theatre will be posting videos of its members reading from Vasiliy Tyorkin on the theatre’s VK page. You can listen to the students reading and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of that historical period right now. Click on the link, comment and share the videos with your friends.
