Young SUM Scientists Won First Prize at Rost.UP Exhibition (Tomsk) of NAUKA 0+ Festival
A project developed by a group of young scientists from the ‘Digital Economy and High Technology’ Design and Training Laboratory at the State University of Management took first place in the Young Scientists category of Rost.UP exhibition.
This exhibition opened at the House of Scientists of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR) as part of the NAUKA 0+ Festival. Over fifty projects, students and young scientists from Russian universities in Moscow, Ufa, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Khanty-Mansiysk, Kemerovo and Bashkortostan took part in the exhibition.
The event was opened by the President of TUSUR Alexander Shelupanov and Tomsk’s Head of Department of Science and Higher Education Pyotr Kaminskiy.
‘ICU—I see you’, the project created by the young scientists from SUM, was highly praised by the expert committee of the exhibition. It was presented by the Head of the Laboratory Mikhail Nachevskiy and SUM student Aleksey Galkin.
We can market this system to businesses, for example, to help sellers cater to customer needs: they can start offering tailored products to certain clients, based on the emotions detected by the neural network. Moreover, our technology can be applied as an important element of security systems,
said the Head of SUM Design and Training Laboratory Mikhail Nachevskiy.
Among the projects selected and allowed to participate in the Rost.UP 2019 exhibition were a device that prevents upper respiratory tract diseases through the use of an LED lamp, a digital tutor, dry honey production technology, a model of an eco-friendly house, a drone with a built-in 3D scanner, a lighting device that can be used in making fine-art photography or for other kinds of creative work.
